Movies We Want To See (and so should you), The MoGT Baker’s Dozen of Good Taste

From time to time the Ministers of Good Taste will be issuing Baker’s Dozen Lists of Good Taste.  We hope you take the time to review them, and then follow them as good taste would lead you to do.  Here’s our Upcoming Movies We Want To See (and so should you).  This list will be updated as movies come and go.

#13 – Fast and Furious 7

#12 – Fantastic Four

#11 – Bad Boys 3

#10 – Exodus: Gods and Kings

This film looks like it could be an epic remake of the already epic Ten Commandments. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Christian Bale in the role of Moses (he’s got some big shoes to fill), we can only hope this is a much better and more accurate depiction than Noah was – they’d have to really work at it to screw up that badly though.  With plenty of storyline and enough material for some awesome special effects, make sure this makes your list.

#9 – Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

wpid-wp-1408025779886.jpegAs Katniss Everdeen falls further into the war that’s brewing, I personally can’t help but hope she takes the time to wrestle with co-star Natalie Dormer in a pool of lime green Jell-O…. Um. yeah… No, this is going to be a popular flick following Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s unfortunate death and the overall celebrity gravitas of the cast along with the popularity of the book.  It’s the anti-Twighlight.

#8 – Sin City: A Dame to Kill Forsincity

Alba, Dawson, Green + some more good old fashion shoot outs with Willis & Brolin. Sign us up. No one is winning an actor award but who cares, this is a genre of entertainment you either love or hate. We love it. Thanks Frank Miller & Robert Rodriguez!

#7 – The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies

Thank God it’s finally here.  Two films would have been enough for us, but Peter Jackson decided he needed three so three it was; and we’re finally here.  This is set to be the most action-filled of the The Hobbit movies – it is The Battle of Five Armies after all.  We might consider watching all the movies in sequence the day it’s released – how about you?

#6 – Avengers: Age of Ultron

Can Tony Stark and crew recover from S.H.I.E.L.D.’s dismantling and defeat a nemesis of their own making?  As the second film in the Avengers series, and the eleventh film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – we’re looking forward to this one.  Not only does it star the usual cast of superheroes, James Spader is in this film – and he’s the bad guy!  So it’s bound to be awesome.

#5 – Terminator Genesys

I’ve got to tell you I enjoyed Salvation a ton and was kind of bummed that script didn’t keep going.   How will we get over that you ask?  Emilia Clarke as Sarah Conner!  Not a lot is known about this picture yet, but if she can tame dragons Arnold doesn’t stand a chance.

#4 – Jurassic World

“Taking dinosaurs off this island is the worst idea in the long, sad history of bad ideas. And I’m gonna be there when you learn that.”

~ Dr. Ian Malcolm ~

Not a whole lot is known about this film – it’s set in the future about two decades after the original Jurassic Park in a fully operational Jurassic Park, and Chris Pratt is in it… that’s what we’ve got.  We look forward to the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park series, and hope against all hopes that Jeff Goldblum gets to reprise his role from the original.

#3 – Fury

"Ideals are peaceful, history is violent"

“Ideals are peaceful, history is violent

This story of war, a tank and its crew has us excited on Saving Private Ryan levels. Pitt looks to nail his niche as a driven, focus, and sometimes suicidal sergeant. Along with Shia LaBeouf and Jon Bernthal the stage is set for a bang up WWII movie worthy of hype.

#2 – Mad Max: Fury Road

"My name is Max. My world is fire and blood."

“My name is Max. My world is fire and blood.”

A barren wasteland of action and explosions. Reboots aren’t always a favorite of ours, and with Mel Gibson having played the original anti-hero those are big shoes to fill.  Enter Tom Hardy, one of those special kinds of actors that could be a superstar for the next decade.

#1 – Interstellar

“… our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.

With humankind on the edge of a self-imposed extinction – who better to save us all than Christopher Nolan and Matthew McConaughey? With all that’s happening in the science world today, and the cast and crew they’ve assembled for this film – let’s dream about the possibilities.  This tops our list as the #1 must see upcoming film.

~ E.S. Norton & J.T. Riles ~

What movie are you most looking forward to see?
